2012 30 Day Journal Challenge – Day 1!

This is my third year participating in the journal challenge hosted by the lovely Janel of Run With Scissors. And this is the year I am bound and determined I’ll actually finish it! Haha… I’m a little behind, but here is my first page:

Prompt: an introduction page.

You can see pages shared from the rest of the participants here, or you can also see what I did last year. And it’s not too late to get started yourself!

Daily Dozen: 12 on 12

Hi friends! You know I like a fun photo challenge, especially when I can use my beloved Instagram. I’m joining Elizabeth Kartchner of Dear Lizzy with the Daily Dozen: 12 on 12. That’s 12 photos of taken during the day on the 12th of each month (or maybe the official rules don’t include every month, but those are MY rules). I’m hoping I’ll remember every month from now on. Oooh… need to set myself a reminder on my phone. On to what you really care about, photos of my intensely thrilling day yesterday!

l-r: Cats enjoying morning sunshine; Cheerios breakfast (I live on the edge); lying on my yoga mat doing leg exercises

l-r: getting my vehicle inspected (please note that’s pronounce VEE-hickle); I passed – woohoo for Cam and me!; stopped right by the crosses at Bellevue

l-r: Happy Hour!!! Love me some Sonic – a Lemonberry Slush, if you must know. It was a dollar well spent; my new pillow arrived from Amazon! – memory foam and it’s super nice (no more neck pain); $5 Rayban knock-offs from Wal-Mart since my other sunnies broke

l-r: a little organizing/decorating project I’ll feature soon – you won’t believe how this little magazine file started out!; a little pre-bed reading – I love Nouwen (it’s like I’m reading my own brain sometimes); finishing the day by praying a psalm

Hope you enjoyed this fascinating look into my little life! Hey! I saw you over there… quit your yawning.

30 Day Photo Challenge – Catchup 2-4

Sorry… got a little behind there. Gasp, shocking. I was taking the pics, though, y’all! So here goes… days 2-4:

Day 2: Smile

Day 2 (11-11-11): Smile… smiling because I made a new outfit and felt super cute. Smiling because I’m a nerd and it was a palindrome day. Smiling because I was off to an interview. Smiling because the interview went well and I realized I actually kind of like interviewing (masochist maybe? I dunno… I’m just a people person. There’s a bit of a high). Smiling because my mom was visiting my sister and texted me a picture of her 24-week baby belly (with one of the dogs sniffing her bum hahaha).

Day 3: Happiness

Day 3 (11-12-11): Happiness. A cup of tea (especially peppermint or something else calming) is almost a sure-fire guarantee to sooth me to a contented happiness. I love the whole process… setting the kettle to boil, steeping the tea (and preparing the strainer, if I go loose-leaf), stirring in the honey, sipping ’til it’s cool enough to drink. Even when the previous day’s interview came back negative, tea still made me happy. And if you pair a chocolate chip cookie with it… well that’s just amazing.

Day 4: Leaves

Day 4 (11-13-11): Leaves. My picture was going to be the wind-swept piles of leaves by the back gate to the parking lot until I went out the other door of the condo to go get the mail. This beautiful tree is right outside. We live on the second story so I got a wonderful view. I’m so glad I did because we’ve had rain the past two days and now most of the leaves  are gone!

Alright. Caught up. Coming shortly – today’s picture! Woohoo!

30 Day Photo Challenge! Day 1

Today via Pinterest, I stumbled across positively present’s 30 Day Gratitude Photo Challenge. It seemed fun and easy (y’all know I love Instagram!) and a great way to help me get more settled into a blog routine. It was almost dinner time and I looked at the prompt for Day 1: Favorite Food, and that was it. I was all, “Ohemgeeeeeee I have to go to Target for some cheese ravioli!”

Cheese ravioli with melted butter Smart Balance and [lots of] parmesan cheese. A glass of milk. And seeing as I am actually an adult, I was good and included those green beans hiding in the corner. Yes. My favorite food at 26 is the same as it was at 3. Ravioli all the way! I remember we used to go to the Spaghetti Factory in Portland (my hometown to age 5.5) and I would always order the adult ravioli plate. I was this teeny, fluffy-haird pixy and the waitresses never would believe when they returned to a completely empty plate. This girl loves her some pasta and cheese! NOM!

Time for sleeps, y’all! See you tomorrow…
